Los Angeles is unfortunately going through our regularly scheduled irregular weather season. Known for our beaches and sunshines, tourists and many residents are not sure how to handle this infrequent weather change. It's like entering an amusement park and finding out your favorite ride is out of order. To escape the Spring gloom, Angelos have been escaping to experience mini vacations near California. Top travel spots includes Santa Barbara, San Diego and my personal favorite Las Vegas. This weekend, I experienced a new place to enjoy and that place is Rosarito!
Starting my blog, the main purpose was to share California experiences that other's haven't tried! One of those places happened to be Rosarito. Joining along a friend's trip, I knew absolutely nothing about Rosarito. It's off the coast of Mexico however, it is technically considered Baja California. About an hour away from San Diego, the destination is the perfect get away from Los Angeles!
A Great Spring Break Spot
Once you step foot across the International boarder you can feel the ocean breeze and gust of culture shock within the air. Surrounded by beaches and alcohol, this place has a way of being both relaxing and fun! A great place for all ages indeed however, this place is the new Chuck-E-Cheese for adults. Escaping the Vegas crowds and avoiding the Miami prices, college students are making Rosarito the residential spot for Spring Break. Between the months of April and July, is when this area shows tourists major love! It is a complete boardwalk of food, shops and bars along the beach. Each bar has its special offering, but majority of the entries for the clubs with an open bar are $30. For a cheaper option, just continue to enjoy the various bars along the beach including The Baja and Corona Bar. Warning be expected of wild party animals, drunk tourists and wet T-Shirt contests.
Papas & Beer
This place is wilder than Vegas! By looking at the bar's Instagram page, you'll see exactly what I mean. This bar is located at the beachfront of Playa de Rosarito and its the adult version of Chuck-E-Cheese. The dry water park is filled with dancing and alcohol. Probably the nicest bar staff you'll ever meet as well. Entering the bar, it is a party wonderland with about 7 bars, an upper area, poles on the counter, various stages and a pool.
The star staple of Rosarito is also known for its large concerts. The joint has brought big names to Mexico such as YG, Lil John and Lil Uzi Vert. Before visiting check out the club's websites for tickets, events and parking info.
Camels, Horses & ATVs ...oh my
Did you really go to Mexico if you didn't try any of these things? The answer is no! Enjoy all what Mexico has to offer by taking part in these various activities along the beach, Closer to the Beach of Rosarito, horses are lined up along the beach to try to go for a ride. There isn't necessarily an area to book a horse ride, but scheduled rides are usually booked based off of the hotel packages. As far as camels, because they are not so accessible as horses it is best to look up actual locations that have them as an option. Also , because Tijuana isn't that far from the area, you can travel for 30 minutes to do bookings there. Accompanied with the animals are also ATV's and tractor rides. Majority of these bookings are available either higher into the city more than directly along the beach. Below are the various websites offering all of these great things.
Stop On By
-Come in a large group! Co-Ed is cool but, a full group of girls gets more attention and opportunities to get into clubs for free.
-Follow @Papas&Beer for Rosarito updates! This includes the visiting performers and day parties.
-Come during fun holiday times including Cinco De Mayo, Memorial Day and Fourth of July! Avoid family based holidays such as Mothers and Father's Day.
- Do not carry a large amount of cash, just in case! Also they do accept American dollars, so brush up on your math conversion skills.
- At least have one member of your group who speaks Spanish.
- Do not attempt to do anything to sketchy, the police down there do not play!
- Crossing the boarder to come back home can potentially take between 2-5 hours. To attempt to avoid it try to leave as early in the AM or late in the night as you can.
Throughout this blogger(website) experience, I've been attempting to find ways to make this website more me. Finding ways to make this website more relatable and actually beneficial to my audience is something that I've been struggling to do. Now to break the normal niche of the Indigo Stop, enjoy the content from "Autumn's Stops". This is where I will write about anything on my mind. Most things will be emotionally beneficial such as developing self love, skin care products or finding ways to become a better person. Some things will be motivational such as finding ways to get that dream job , body or lifestyle. Unfortunately, some things will be TOO REAL. Revealing things that everyday girls go through such as depression and politics. Regardless of the content I've decided to make a page that gives you all an incite beyond the blogger wanna be image. Welcome to Autumn's Stops!
