It is pretty obvious and probably juvenile to say this; but, I'm going to go ahead to say it! "I love fashion". Though the intro statement is a tad bit corny, the direction I am going in will soon make sense. I love fashion for three reasons: Original, classic and Reemergence. Trends are repetitive and there is nothing wrong with being inspired by an original idea. Making the idea your own is the trick! It is only February, but I have seen the reemergence of many fashion trends. From the Paris Hilton inspired matching sweat suits, to the throwback band tee shirts- styles are returning for 2018! Trends come and go, but finding ways to switch things up is the benefit of fashion. The most classic of classic looks is the combination of a white button-down and denim. The look has been conventional for the everyday girl for years and I decided to try the trend and make it my own!
A white button-down shirt is essential in the everyday women's closet. EVERY WOMEN NEEDS ONE! No, I am not being dramatic but, I'm going to quickly analyze why. For one, women have to appreciate the versatility of a white button down. The staple is perfect for going to an interview or for professional wear. It is also perfect for a casual day at work or for a weekend brunch. For the trend of 2017-2018 women have been challenged to make the white button-down look her own. This trend is known as "Manipulating". For this look I wanted to find a way to make this classic trend more cultured and sexy. I wanted this to be the outfit you see on a girl in a night out in Los Angeles, and realize that she is SOMEBODY in the industry.
The white button down came from a surprise find at Forever 21. That's right Forever 21 is where I found this cute chic shirt. Now manipulating button ups takes a lot of talent. It takes creative direction, designing skills and perseverance. Luckily, for those who do not have that or the time every morning to make shift your button up, Forever 21 has this shirt option. The button up is naturally a mid drift and has the tie section automatically added onto it. Thus creating, the illusion like I hand stitched and folded the classic button down to a sexy chic crop top. It is safe to say, that this shirt is my absolute favorite! Next to the look is the hip hugging boyfriend jeans from Eden Sky, an LA based online boutique. I am guilty of wearing these pants a lot because they are my classic jeans. Every women, even men have those pants that they love wearing because they go with everything and fit you all in the right places. To add some sex appeal to the boyfriend jeans add a cute belt to expose those curves of yours. Closing the look is my classic black ankle boots from Forever 21.
The secret of wearing a classic button up and denim is all in the accessories. The accessories controls the flow of the wardrobe. To switch up the classic style I added the black belt with gold trim, my gold chains courtesy of Honey B Gold and my classic black Fendi shades.
Style is all about twists and turns, taking the original and making it your own! I encourage every person with interest in fashion to take the challenge of trying a classic outfit like white and denim and making it your own.

Everybody has an addiction! Whether it's ice cream (me), the Kardashians (shamelessly me) and chocolate (absolutely not me); we are all addicted to something.
According to fashion, however our addiction becomes no longer hidden. As I was doing my annual closet cleanse, where I look through the closet and dictate what is worth keeping and what is not, I found a repetitive trend. Stripes: black verticals, blue horizontals and many, many more. So much, that you would've thought that you took a trip inside Beetlejuice's closet. Now repairing my shoe closet, I found another disturbing discovery: my lack of the latest winter fashion staple, ankle boots.
Stripes are perfect because they are universally accepted for anytime and anywhere. Spring it up with pastel colored stripes, and heat up the summer with the combo of stripes and graphics. Also appreciated, is the range that stripes can go. Shirts, pants, dresses, and skirts: either way stripes are transformative and fabulous. Although my addiction seems outlandish, I have accepted my stripe addiction.
My favorite peaking trend of the year is stylish ankle boots. Being 4'11, I struggled with finding ways to stand over the crowd without wearing painful towering heels. That is until the reintroduction of ankle boots. Challenging the high heeled women, are the perfect pair of stylish ankle boots. Adding both height and comfort, this is becoming my new favorite trend. You can imagine my disappointment, when I discovered that I had only two plain boots. The diversity of this trend can include various colors, styles and heights. From casual mid heels, to playful styles and even to laid back options- every women needs her favorite pair of ankle boots.
Earlier, I mentioned how stripes can come in seasons. For this look I pulled off a fall/winter combo. This day, I attended my first event of 2018! It was a women's networking and vision board party. Surrounded by other women in my industry pushes me to try new things with fashion. I admit professional wear is usually my downfall however the 2018 Autumn has made it a point to let it shine. The industry event brought all kinds of women together: stylists, designers, make up artists, hosts, actress and models. To handle an industry event, the idea is to find a way to receive reactions but, not steal the show! That concept inspired this look!
This dress is a recent purchase from Zara. With mid-length dresses, you never really know what to expect, especially at my height. The dress cut off appropriately over my knee. However, the dress' full form allowed the length to be appropriate. A highlight of the dress is the pattern of stripes. Notice how the stripes go different directions through the dress. This allows the dress to not be so boxy and plain jail bird style. The various stripes and gold details are my favorite part of the dress. Adding to the look is the black sock like ankle boots. These boots were surprisingly from a Forever 21 sale and I am obsessed with them. Trying these on felt like Cinderella finding her glass slipper! They are comfortable and the height gave me enough structure to allow me to wear the longer dress.

Music festivals are surely becoming one of my favorite weekend activities.
No adrenaline is like the one you get at a music festival. Base dropping beats from the hottest DJ's. Crowded pits of head banging fans. The only thing separating you from your favorite artist is the steel barricade. Becoming one with music has always been a consistent lifestyle through festivals and concerts. Offering that up and close personal attention to an artist and fellow fans, has been a tradition throughout all ages. Previous music festivals include the legendary Woodstock or even the forever running Coachella. Fan favorites of course; however, these once in a lifetime shows cost usually a once in a lifetime price. To add more opportunities to the concert market, Los Angeles has been adding more inclusive shows for cheaper prices. These shows include the same experience as Coachella, with various artists and fashion for prices under $300.
Behind fashion, music is my second love. Both comparative to one another, fashion and music are the artistry of festivals. The purpose of fashion is forever shifting based off of what the person is attempting to reflect. With fashion you can become whoever you want to be. Music reveals who you are and what you prefer. Music festivals combine the interest of flexing your style that was inspired by your favorite music choice is.
What is Bohemia?:
Within this look, I found a way to combine fashion and music. Titled bohemian chic, artists created a style form fitting to both things. Socialites and Insta-Stars would use their platform to participate in music festivals. Some enjoy the music, while others enjoy the fashion. Fashion and festivals created a new style of clothing. Mixing culture, glam and comfort, the style is making its way at California music festivals like Coachella, Afro Punk and more. 2013, started the wave of the bohemian trend. Though recycled the trend was highlighted this year due to the popularity of music festivals.
Many festival goers needed wardrobe advice for the occasion. For one festivals are extremely hot, so too much fabric is out of the question. Two, if you are not an ultra celeb or socialite, I am pretty positive that you are most likely about to be in the outdoor crowded sections all day. Wearing something comfortable, yet body slimming is the best trick for wardrobe at the occasion. On the hunt for festival wear, the trend developed to festival wear and street style.
Bohemianism extends and will continue inspiring young girls to relax and look comfortable. The irony of the trend is the impact it created. Now women go through a lot for the effortless trend of Boho Chic. Searching the Melrose and hidden thrift shops, to finding something that no one else would have! Even designers took notice into the trend as brands such as Gucci, Chloe and Alexander McQueen expanded their bohemia collection. The trend even parted into various types of bohemia. There is Coachella Style, which we previously discussed. There is also the growing nouveau-bohemia, which includes comfort and form fitting silhouettes.
As bohemianism is growing into various styles, finding a way to wear it as everyday fashion is becoming the clear norm. Effortless is in, though finding the energy to pull it off is what's keeping the trend almost unattainable. A clear set of fashion irony, indeed.
At a hole in the wall fashion shop in Downtown, I found this amazing brown print set. The Indian themed shop had a friendly staff and was filled with traditional cultural wear such as decorative cloth and jewelry. The two set pieces were from the Kimie collection. Piece by piece the set is one of my favorite outfits. The styling of the top is complicated but presents a simple wear. Also the pants are wide legged, form fitting wear and comfortable. Representing bohemian chic, this look is perfect for music festivals. Completing pieces that transcends a layback trend thus daunting a womanly sleek look, is bohemian wear. Presenting style and womanhood, the transcending trend shows the best part of you. It also matches the atmosphere of concert goers as free flowing, gypsy like music lovers.
